ProBlogger is just one blog maintained by Darren Rowse, a fast-risen star of the blogworld. Darren is known to many as one of the co-founders of the popular b5Media Network, where he is also the VP of Blogger Training. But before b5 (and still today), Darren was a blogger—a professional blogger, and one who has an abundance of knowledge to share.

Darren’s sage professional advice deserves your attention regardless of the intentions of your blogging and your goals for it. From the looks of his interests (About page), it seems that Andrew Jones, aka Tall Skinny Kiwi, is living the good life. Those interests include pizza, tea, family, marriage, mac mags, reading, camping, and God (probably not in that order), and they are what Andrew Jones lives for.

They also make up the bulk of what Andrew’s Tall Skinny Kiwi blog is about‚Äîwith a little more weight given to faith and belief, and a healthy smattering of life with teenagers and family thrown in. Formally, Andrew says his blog is about social media, social enterprise, and mission in emerging culture. It all makes for some interesting reading and refreshing insight.

Naturally not all of us are as religiously inclined as Andrew is, but even those who waiver in faith, or stand strong yet are in need of a higher level of understanding, have something of value to learn from Andrew. Rob’s Megaphone is Rob Stevenson’s place to let his voice be heard‚Äîboth his expert writing voice and the voice of his comedic, slightly skewed sense of humor. The goal of his blog, courtesy of Rob’s About page, is two-fold in nature; his mission is:

1. to post about writing – specifically trying to make learning about grammar and writing fun, and
2. to post funny, interesting stuff.

If he can pull the first off that is quite an accomplishment. But his posts tagged funny prove that the second has been definitely achieved, which can only mean he’s off running to accomplish goal number one.

Rob’s Megaphone – Why You Should Go

Better writing skills and a better command of the English language is something that everyone (writing in English, of course) could use from time to time. With the proliferation of social media and the WWW in general, writing skills are taking on a new level of importance, which only means that blogs that help us communicate better are taking on more importance.

That being said, I have to say (as one who writes herself), that the best reason to visit Rob’s Megaphone is the funny stuff he comes up with. Really, it’s hard to imagine where one would find with all this stuff. One of the Megaphone staples is the silly news, some of which is just plain odd and entertaining, and some of which is just plain scary when it gets down to it. Nevertheless, there are plenty of laughs to be had.

Rob Stevenson, who by profession is a Mass Communications professor and writer (so one can only hope he’ll go easy on the critique here), really does seem to know his stuff‚Äîboth the writing “stuff” and the funny stuff, too. As the weekend approaches it’s nice to start thinking about kicking back with a cold one‚Ķor a few (and we’re always looking forward to the next weekend, aren’t we?). Here’s a blog to help you do that in style and appreciation of one of the world’s most favored off-time accessories.

Brew Ha Ha is, in case you haven’t guessed it by now, is a blog dedicated to beer and the love of it. It’s maintained by a husband and wife couple from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (that’s in the US for those of you ‘cross waters), Kelly and Chris Erb. Together, they share a love of spirits (actually just beer) and travel. These loves are combined for the benefit of us all, bringing us reviews, information, and commentary on beers and watering holes from around the world (recent posts include reviews of German biergarten).

Brew Ha Ha – Why You Should Go

It’s a blog about beer and relaxation. What more can we say?

We could say that it’s not just a blog about beer; it’s a blog about beer appreciation, enjoyment, beer drink recipes (did you know you could combine your love for a whole new cocktail?) and practical uses (like cooking and baking for instance). Kelly probably sums it up best: “Brew Ha Ha is about our global love affair with beer through the ages.
