The Daily Blonde

The Daily Blonde is the work of Cheryl Phillips, a single mother of five with a quick wit—and she’s not afraid to use it. She’s a woman with convictions and a fearless sense of humor, offering up her opinions and commentary to brighten your day and support her causes of choice as she vents about politics (less the issues—more the players), Pepsi, and life in general.

The Daily Blonde – Why You Should Go

Cheryl describes herself as a woman with “lots to say, a big sense of humor, and low tolerance for people who don’t know how to laugh! I’m far from a feminist. I can’t imagine even getting along with Gloria Steinem. I live life without a filter on my mouth. I say it like it is but never with the intent to hurt…just to share a laugh about this crazy thing called life!” In this spirit she takes on anything that strikes her interest, mostly for amusement’s sake except for when it counts. When does it count for The Daily Blonde? When the issues are worth caring about—issues like children and family and breast cancer awareness.

Summing Up The Daily Blonde

Cheryl Phillips brings a refreshingly open and honest voice to her blog. She means no harm and does no harm while delivering lots of quirky laughs. Join Cheryl for some ditzy (her word choice, not mine) humor and learn to take a less serious lease on life.

Saying Yes To Me

Yes To Me

Yes to Me is the blog of spiritual consultant and entrepreneur Akemi Gaines. It is a blog with mixed and inter-connected purposes, predisposed to help you develop your own self and purpose (which often includes developing the realization of what that is).

Yes To Me – Why You Should Go

Yes to Me began as a blog to help others “do what you love” and develop your passions into a supporting entrepreneurial endeavor. Along the way, Akemi found that there was no real way to separate that journey from her work as a life coach and spiritual consultant, and so that blog has grown to include a wider array of fundamental personal and spiritual growth topics. In both entrepreneurial and personal development Akemi’s work (and her posts) center in healing the inner person first, and granting yourself the permission to say “Yes to Me” to achieve the ultimate in personal and professional success.

Summing Up Yes To Me

Akemi Gaines uses her blog to look first at the person within you and secondly at the potential of that person. By tying the spiritual to the professional, she helps you create a fully-content, well-rounded person who is living a life of success and fulfillment. Join Akemi and learn more about how your life can be lived more holistically in all respects.

CreditMom

CreditMom is your average mother of three boys making the best of life, love, and personal finance. Her blog revolves more around topics relating to personal finance than it does specifically on credit, while interweaving all of her life’s roles.

CreditMom – Why You Should Go

CreditMom has many posts of interest to people interested in learning more about personal finance and the regular topics relative to that like credit cards and the economics of personal finance. What really makes her blog stand out, though, is her dedication to children’s financial literacy and responsibility and other topics of import such as child ID theft, internet safety, kids and concerns over the economy, and kids and money. Her blog offers an array of posts on these and other subjects, making it a concentrated resource for parents dealing with how to raise their children as responsible, independent adults.

Summing Up CreditMom

CreditMom’s blog is of high interest for the conversation and discussion. Adding to that is her real-world, tried and true experiences with raising financially educated children. CreditMom is showing her readers that it’s never too early to think about and teach kids about money and finance, and she’s leading the way by example.

Francessa’s Blog Research

“Constructing and Deconstructing Blogs and the Blogosphere: Approaches – Methods – Studies – Publications”

If this blog sounds familiar it is because we visited Francessa Rich a while back at her Francessa’s Thinking blog. You might recall her as the teacher and researcher specializing in the internet communication of teens. At the time of her first review I mentioned her other blog—Francessa’s Research Blog—which is equally deserving of review all its own.

Francessa’s Blog Research – Why You Should Go

Francessa’s Research Blog (which is maintained in both English and German) is where she shares many of her researched sources. The blog is not as regularly updated, as it looks to depend largely on the current status and reach of her research, but as a compilation of work it offers a lot. Research topics break down into several themes and categories, including

• History/Basics/General
• Archetypes of Blogs & Bloggers
• Search Engines, Rankings & More
• Studies, Survey, Research, Polls
• Blogging & Concepts of Community
• Influence of Blogs & Blogosphere
• Blogging and Education
• Regional Blogospheres
• Blogging & Journalism
• PR & Corporate Blogging
• Sports Blogs
• Books
• Teens and SNS

But perhaps Francessa describes it best: “This blog is a gathering place, an instant database, collecting a sound body of evidence.”

Summing Up Francessa’s Blog Research

Francessa’s Research Blog is a reliable resource for information relating to teens and the internet, as well as blogging and its impact. Go here to learn from Francessa, gain insight into the world of and behind the scenes of blogging, and for direction to leading informational resources on a variety of internet and blog-related subjects.

Any blog review site has to have standards for judging the blogs it reviews.  Thinking about the standards that blogs are judged by here at Do You DIgg It has me wondering how much they are in line with what our readers think the standards for a good blog should be.

How Do You Digg It Evaluates Blogs

Our blog evaluation standards are not complex.  We look for good quality blogs that offer useful information.  We focus primarily on the content and to a much, much lesser degree on the organization of the blog.  We strive to highlight blogs that have something of value to offer our readers.  Some of those are beautifully designed and coded, some of those are hosted on the simplest of blog platforms.

We look at blogs with an open mind and try to see them from all angles.  We strive for a diversity of offerings and work to appreciate all perspectives.  We don’t expect perfection, we just expect value.

From Our Readers

Now it’s your turn to tell us how that approach is working for you, and to offer us up some of your own opinions–what do you think makes a good blog?  How Important are the ‘extras” that a blog may offer?  what are the most important components of a worthwhile blog?

We’re here for our readers and we’re interested in what you have to say–so speak up!  Tell us what you think a blog should be judged on.

Open Interpretation of Articles Of Intent

Articles Of Intent

Articles of Intent is a second blog-work of Dexter the Quote Guy (of Quotes…In Our Own Words). Much like his first blog this blog is also a place for open interpretation and discussion, with the discussion being focused on the Law of Attraction.

Articles Of Intent – Why You Should Go

On this blog Dexter searches the web for articles about the Law of Attraction, and then, much in the same fashion as Quotes…In Our Own Words, offers his own interpretations and thoughts before opening the floor for discussion. On this blog, as on his Quotes blog, all discussions and interpretations are welcome—positive or negative or in between. All that is asked is that discussion be interpretive and civil, and all opinions are welcome.

Summing Up Articles Of Intent

Articles of Intent offers the chance to explore the secret surrounding wealth but by default it serves a useful second purpose—that of compiling a library of articles and information about the Law of Attraction. This is a place for community discussion and learning, but also an information resource focused tightly on the subject of success.

Dads Are Bloggers, Too

Blogger Dad

We’ve heard a lot about the many talented Mom bloggers out there this week, but now we hear about the other side—lest we forget that Dads are bloggers, too.

Blogger Dad is just a regular guy in love with his child who takes us along through his foray into parenthood through his blog. He shares much of what you might expect to find in a parenting blog—stories about his son, musings on parenting and life, embarrassing stories the likes of which any parent can relate to, and great links to more resources of interest to the larger audience.

Blogger Dad – Why You Should Go

So often parenting is heard from the perspective of the mother; but obviously Dads have a big stake in the game and play an eminently important role in the lives of children, both young and old; and so it is good that we have resources like Blogger Dad so that we can learn and appreciate parenting from the Father’s perspective, but also because fathers are extremely valuable parenting information resources, too. Any experienced voice is a value to both mothers and fathers to learn from as we strive to find others to identify with and to learn effective parenting skills from.

Blogger Dad brings to his blogging a very down-to-earth appeal, and approaches his topics with humor and insight. As mentioned blog posts on Blogger Dad span a range of topics, and include among them interviews with other parent bloggers in an effort to meet the “artists behind the art.”

Summing Up Blogger Dad

Blogger Dad is just the right balance of perspective from the other side. It’s all parenting all around, with, as the tagline says, “a little humor, a lot of heart.”

Millionaire Mommy Next Door

Jen, the Millionaire Mommy, is a mom with a mission. Her mission is to give back and help others achieve the level of good-living and contentment that she and her husband, now family, have achieved. Her gift to the world is the vast amounts of practical and real financial information she has amassed on her way to becoming financially free—a millionaire the likes of which could be living right alongside of you.

Millionaire Mommy Next Door – Why You Should Go

“I want to share the story of our journey from minimum wage to financial freedom because I’m at a point where I’d like to give back. The financial industry is rarely focused on women – my intention is to offer a supportive community and a female perspective.”

Jen forged her path to financial and life wellness by educating herself and living well within her means, all the while pursuing the lifestyle that suited her and hers best. On her blog she shares just how this was done and also expands into other posts detailing how you can do it too. It’s a site filled with understandable financial information and advice in a community of support and helpfulness.

Summing Up Millionaire Mommy Next Door

The blog takes its focus from aligning your spending with the lifestyle you want (whatever that lifestyle is) and away from the notion of keeping up appearances. This is an inspiring blog that offers a complement of good advice, good information, confidence, and support.
