Tiny Farm Blog is one of those blogs that proves that there are people out there really “doing it”. The farmer (who remains anonymous in an effort to focus on the farming and not commercialize his blog) started with next to no gardening knowledge, and after eight years had grown his small farm into enough of a success that it required a move to a bigger and better location. The farm is organic all the way and making it happen with minimum tools and maximum effort—an effort that for this farmer is all reward.

Posts on the blog are a daily chronicle of farm planning and activities, complete with photos and detailed step-by-step accounts. In addition, the blog extends into other areas of learning and interest such as how to get started in microfarming, politics and related news, and learning resources for gardening, storage, and beyond.

Summing Up Tiny Farm Blog

The Tiny Farm has big heart, and is an excellent information resource for people interested in similar projects. It is also an excellent learning resource for people who may not have the means or desire to undertake this type of project themselves, but who like to see how things work. There is also quite a lot to be learned here about the real story behind where your food comes from and the meaning of certain labels and marketing tactics. All in all the blog is an interesting read and a unique educational experience.

• Rick’s blog led us eventually to Matt Cutts’s blog, Gadgets, Google, and SEO, where he is sharing insight learned from study and work in computing and internet.  See what juicy bits Matt has to share from behind the scenes of Google itself!
• Jennifer Long is inspiring us all with both her dedication to greener living and her pursuit of happiness as she moves from the concrete jungle to the real jungle of Costa Rica and her beautiful soon-to-be-early-retirement coffee farm!  This Girl’s Gone Green for sure–see how she’s living her dreams as large as life!

The two share a dream to retire early to a greener life on a beautiful tropical farm—and they’re making plans to live it!

This Girl’s Gone Green is one of three blogs that Jennifer maintains; she also hosts a blog about funny goat stories (to know them is to love them—truly!) and a professionally-oriented blog about immigration. All three are great blogs, but the one that really stands out is This Girl’s Gone Green. The content of the blog—primarily centering on greener gardening and living—is reason enough to read this blog, but probably what is even more inspiring is Jennifer’s real enthusiasm and transition to her farming life in Costa Rica, and the illustration of the fact that it really is possible to dream big and achieve your goals and dreams, even if that means undertaking seemingly drastic life-changes (although maybe those changes are really just a return to Jennifer’s true self?).

Periodically I send out a request for blog submissions for blog reviews. This post is partially that, but I thought along with it I’d offer a little incentive and give you a reason to submit your blog for review.
