Wanted: Great Blogs For Review

Once again, it’s time to send out our gentle reminder:

We Want Your Blog Suggestions For Review!

Subtle enough?

Those of you who have been around for a while know this already, but it came to my attention again recently that we are continually welcoming new readers, and for them it is much less clear as to how to submit a blog for review.  So, in the interest of reminding those of you who have been following the blog for a while and informing our new friends, we take a minute out to tend to business once again.

How To Suggest Blogs & Topics For Review

It’s very easy to submit a suggestion for a blog review.  Likewise, if you don’t have a blog in mind but have a topic in mind that you’d like to learn more about, let us know about it–we’re happy to do the searching for you.

If you would like to submit a blog or a topic for review–and it can be yours, your friend’s, your mother’s, or a total stranger’s whose work you like–all you need to do is leave a comment on this or any blog post.  All comments are monitored, so we’ll see it (without having to lend out our emails to spammers).

So speak up, please.  Leave a comment below and let us know where the good bloggers are hanging out!

DYDI Week In Review, Week Of Jan 11

It’s that time of week once again–time to look back and review the reviews to make sure you didn’t miss a blogging beat!

Do You Digg It Blog Reviews January 11, 2009

  • We started the week with some good eats from Katherine Huether at This Girl Cooks.
  • From there, we entered the animal world and got a behind-the-scenes look at The Life of a Veterinarian, complete with advice, tips, and animal tricks.
  • That led us to a lighter look at animal antics at LOL Cats and Dogs (a surprisingly popular post by the way–stop by to see what all the buzz is about!).
  • We got a little more in touch with the simpler and more natural side of life at Organic. Period…
  • …And were inspired by the True Quotes that make you think.
  • Our week ended with a review of a promising blog Network, Today.com, a place that lays host to some top quality blogs (a few from this week’s list) and offers an array of opportunities for bloggers new and old.

So ends our week of blog reviews.  Come back as we begin another week anew, with more great blogs to find.

Don’t forget we’re always looking out for more blogs to add to our ranks.  Leave a comment with all your suggestions for your blog favorites and places to see.

Another of the more prevalent blogging networks is the Today.com blog network. This is a network that offers plenty of perks for both hobby bloggers and more serious bloggers looking to earn some income for their efforts. It is also home to some very good blogs that you’ll enjoy just for the reading pleasure. (You can see examples of Today.com blogs here on Digg It; a couple recent reviews of Today Blogs include This Girl Cooks and Organic. Period.)

Today Blogging Network – Why You Should Go

The Today.com blog network offers blog platforms and support for blogs in a range of categories. Those categories include:

• News
• Entertainment
• Business

Describing their blog network, Today.com states:

“Today.com provides tools for both new and experienced bloggers. For those new to blogging, we offer free blog hosting…For those with an established blog looking to generate more traffic, we offer free submission to our blog directory.”

A Busy Blogger Indeed

Category: Success, Positivity, Mindset, Wealth Creation

The Sean Rasmussen Family Of Blogs

Many of you know that Do You Digg It is the creation of Sean Rasmussen, a leading internet marketer and success communicator. Many of you have found Digg It through his many other works, and many of you may have been introduced to his works through mention in a select few past posts here on Digg It.

For those of you who have not become familiar with Sean’s work—and even many of you who have—you may be surprised at how extensive a network of blogs it really is. Today, as I sit here in the non-electrified silence contemplating great blogs, Sean’s came, naturally, to mind. It seems a good time to return the favor to Sean and point you on your way to his many projects and works.

SeanRasmussen.com

You’ll want to start out here, at the Daddy of them all, Sean’s personal blog. This is where he does the bulk of his work in success communication and mindset. It is also the best place to get to know Sean Rasmussen on a more personal level (visit his recent posts from Disney Hong Kong to find out why he, too, has been a little indisposed lately!).

Wealth Creation Blog

This blog deals more on the business end of things. It is a blog where Sean blogs on the topic of wealth creation, and also very much on its co-companion, success mindset and attitude. Much of this is inspired by Jamie McIntyre and the 21st Century Academy, a wealth empowerment course you can also learn more about through his 21st Century Academy blog.

SeanSeo

Over the past four or five years, Sean Rasmussen has made quite a name for himself in the world of internet marketing, giving up the rat race to live a more profitable and free lifestyle—the best of all worlds! Graciously, Sean shares his collected and tried knowledge with other budding internet marketers through his SeanSEO blog, as well as a number of others.

Stocks And Investing

Some of the strategies that have made Sean the success that he is now are the share and stock market investing strategies he learned through Jamie McIntyre and others. You can learn about these in his blogs Planet Wealth Stock Market Blog and BullHunter’s Guide.

Still More!

Believe it or not, this is not a conclusive list of Sean’s blogging efforts. There are even still more to find and enjoy and learn from. You can see the full list on Sean Rasmussen’s Blog Catalog page.

Sean’s blogs have been a too-well kept secret around here for far too long. Enjoy some time this week choosing amongst Sean’s excellent blog projects, and enjoy a prosperous New Year!

Where Are The Best Blogging Communities

I would think (hope) that there will be lots of answers to this question.

Across the internet and blogosphere, it seems there are some networks and platforms that are much more than what they appear; but sometimes you only get to know about these if you are a member of the platform or community itself. That stands to reason, because really how can you be a part of a community without being an active participant in it in some way—either as a frequent visitor or fellow blogger?

Community Magnets

Community MagnetsNevertheless, it seems some places tend to create more of a community than others. The more time I spend looking around Blogger blogs, the more I think that Blogger is one of those spaces. There is always a web weaving from one blog to another (a web that often provides me with many of the subsequent blogs for review). The more I review, the more I find these links looping back upon each other—and no, not always from their original spots. In fact, I’m surprised at the frequency of coming back to a blog weeks after the fact from a seemingly unrelated blog.

Sometimes it is the network that really builds that sense of community across interests—b5 media comes to mind once again. Of course, the best bloggers are masters at this, since community really is what blogs are all about.

It does seem, though, for whatever reason, that some places build communities more easily than others. Who knows why that may be (although if you have an idea—do share!). Being that blogging is as much about the people as the topic, it’s an interesting subject to explore. It’s also a great idea to share those places that do attract a sense of community. I’d very much like to hear where you find the best blog-related communities to be.

What Do You Think?

Comment below, and tell us, where are the best blog communities on the web (platform, network, or singular blog—anything goes!)?

B5Media Delivers Quality And Consistency

b5MediaWhere to Find b5 Media:
Blog URL: http://www.b5media.com/
Category: Blog Networks

B5Media Network

Many of the blogs reviewed here come from leading blog networks; and like the blogs themselves, there are great ones, middling blog networks, and lesser players. One of the networks that comes up again and again is the b5Media network, a network that has given rise to some very well-known blogs and bloggers.

B5Media – Why You Should Go

What is most impressive about b5 is the range and quality of their blogs. By and large, you can trust a b5 blog to be good, and also updated and well-maintained. In part this looks to be the result of b5′s dedication to its network and community. Their bloggers are either field experts or people with passions who know their subject well. The network describes itself in this way:

“b5media is a global new media network covering a wide variety of topics in entertainment, technology, beauty, health, music, travel, sports, business and lifestyles. With content written by passionate people from all over the world, our blogs attract a large, loyal audience for companies looking to build major brand appeal.”

One of the more impressive features with b5 is that they make an effort to maintain quality blogs even when their writers move on. In this way, b5 is able to deliver long-standing blogs and deliver continuity to their community.

Summing Up b5 Media

B5 continues to lead with the best of blog networks because they continue to provide top-quality blogs that people really want to read and come back to again and again. Visit b5 to explore the offerings, find your niche, and enjoy new blogs of interest.

Which Blog Networks Lead The Way?

One thing I’ve learned after a hundred forty + blog reviews is that many come from leading blog networks. Not all, of course, there are just as many that are privately hosted or hosted on WordPress or BlogSpot or another platform of choice. Nevertheless, it is helpful to know that there are some reliable places to look for new blogs to follow, and blog networks capable of delivering.

Who Do You Love?

Just as we all have our favorite blogs, many of us probably have favored blog networks, too. I know certain ones emerge time and again as I scour the internet for new blogs to review. I’ll be highlighting these blog networks from time to time and reviewing them alongside our Digg It blog reviews. As always, though, our readers have a voice, too, so please do tell—what is your favorite blog network? What network consistently delivers great blogs again and again? Which network do you feel is a reliable place to go whenever you feel the need to locate new blogs?

And please, also tell a bit about why you feel the way you do. What makes this network so great? Are they a niche site? Is it something about their management or purpose?

All comments and recommendations are deeply appreciated. The comments are open and waiting below.

Timely Advice From Remarkablogger

RemarkabloggerWhere to Find Remarkablogger:
Blog URL: http://michaelmartine.com/
Category: Blogging

This is not the first time Remarkablogger Michael Martine has been mentioned here on Do You Digg It. He was (and his blog was) among the first reviewed, chosen for its worthy and understandable advice and access to excellent blogging tools. Today, though, Michael has a post of particular interest; and in case you haven’t seen it, it’s a must-read for any blogger.

Remarkablogger Takes On Pages, Posts, And Categories

What should constitute a blog page versus a post, versus a category or tag, is a mystery to many bloggers. When you get it right, though, you have a highly navigable, search engine-friendly and (more importantly) user-friendly blog and interface. Still, it’s a topic that many bloggers struggle with.

Michael’s recent post puts all of this into perspective. He makes short work of describing just what each of these are or should be, and of illustrating how to start divvying up your blog in an efficient and usable way. It’s a post you won’t want to miss, and one that your blog’s readers will certainly thank you for taking to heart.

Go here to check out this useful post on Remarkablogger.
