Ethnically Incorrect Daughter

Sumeia Williams was born in Saigon in 1970, during the Vietnam War. She was brought to the US and adopted by an American soldier and his family. She knows little about her life before her adoption, yet has always felt out of place in the US. Sumeia grew up in a small town in Texas, where she was the only Asian. She blogs about her feelings about being adopted and about never feeling like she fit in.

Ethnically Incorrect Daughter – Why You Should Go

All parents of a transracially adopted children, or those who are considering transracial adoption, should read Sumeia’s blog. It is a very honest look at the difficulties that some adoptees feel when being raised with no connection to their home country and obvious differences in their adoptive country.

Summing Up Ethnically Incorrect Daughter

A very honest and beautifully written blog by an adoptee who has never stopped wondering and looking for her biological mother, and who has never felt like she truly fit in as an American. She regularly ponders questions about her past life that she will likely never get answered. We so often consider only the beautiful parts of adoption, but this blog reminds us that something has to end for a child before an adoption begins.

Preemie Twins Blog

The Preemie Twins Blog is a place of understanding, empathy, and information for parents of multiples and premature babies.

Preemie Twins Blog – Why You Should Go

If you are the parent of multiples or a premature baby, or just know parents of multiples or premature babies, you know that there are definite trials, tribulations, and triumphs that these families and young babies experience. You also know that a strong system of support is one of the only ways to cope, and that often that support, understanding, and information sharing is something that you can only get from people who have lived through the same.

This blog, a highly informative blog for parents of multiple preemies, is at times jubilant and at others heart wrenching, but at all times is a wonderful place for parents experiencing the challenges and triumphs of parenting twins, multiples, and premature babies. The blog is written by a mother who has been through it all, and is contributed to by many others.

Summing Up Preemie Twins Blog

Many preemie twins and multiples are true medical miracles, just as the babies who inspired this blog, Macy and Mallory, are. Still, medical science can only get a parent so far when faced with the challenges and emotions of caring for premature babies. This blog helps to fill the void, lend a hand of support, and educate parents to make the road as smooth as it possibly can be.

Irish Mammy On The Run

Irish Mammy On The Run

Irish Mammy is a returned Irish expat now home to enjoy her home country of Ireland and raise her two young children…and hopefully make the country a better place for them while she’s there.

Irish Mammy On The Run – Why You Should Go

Irish Mammy On The Run is foremost a parenting blog. ‘Mammy’ had lived for 8 years abroad in Europe, where she met her love, got married, and had her first child. It was then that she decided to return to the home country to raise her kids (the second being welcomed in June 2009), which has proven a bit of a struggle in a nation that is experiencing serious economic difficulties.

Additionally, what Mammy found upon arrival back in Ireland is that it ranks quite low (near the bottom of 22 countries) in terms of benefits for children, which makes managing the costs of childcare and healthcare a serious burden for the average Irish family. This bred a strong urge to get involved and fight for her kids and their rights, and the blog is in large part dedicated to this cause. Mammy speaks intelligently on the subject, with the facts and figures to back her, and supports petitioning and causes to fund children’s benefits in Ireland.

Summing Up Irish Mammy On The Run

Irish Mammy is running a little less these days, but is no less busy. Her blog is a great one if you are looking to connect with fellow concerned parents around the world, and a definite destination for those in Ireland working for political change for children and families.
