The Unknown Candidate

The Unknown Candidate is a liberal blog dedicated to the most important events going on in Washington. They follow hot topics like the healthcare debate closely with a very liberal slant. The blog is current and posts some very interesting articles. The author remains anonymous, but lists his basic beliefs on the site.

The Unknown Candidate– Why You Should Go

The blog is current and politically relevant. It’s a good place to keep up with the most important political news. The blog uses news article and guest writers on a regular basis, so the writing is fresh and comes from different points of view. The author is committed to some very basic ideals that most Americans would share. His method of obtaining these is what will be questionable to more conservative readers.

Summing Up The Unknown Candidate

TUC is a fresh and interesting blog about today’s politics and newsworthy items. It is, however, decidedly liberal, and likely, bordering on offensive to most Republicans. They use a variety of writers and post news from other sources, as long as it is in line with their political view.

Pahdon My Opinion

Pahdon My Opinion is a sports commentary blog about Boston sports, including the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox. John Silveira, the author was born and raised in Massachusetts. Though he now resides in Connecticut he still lives and breathes the sports teams he grew to love. Silveira keeps up with all the news surrounding Boston area sports teams, but he throws in quite a bit of his own opinion, hence the blog’s name.

Pahdon My Opinion – Why You Should Go

This is a very good blog to keep up on sports teams in the Boston area. The news is accurate and up to date. It’s true that it comes with a bit of opinion, but if you’re a fan of the Boston area sports teams, you’re likely to agree with John on most of what he says.

Summing Up Pahdon My Opinion

Consider this a sports blog for fans of the Patriots, the Red Sox, the Celtics or the Bruins. A quick way to check on all the major Boston area professional teams…and as an New Englander (Englandah–gotta get it right!  If you’ve been heah, you know what we’re talkin’ about) knows, that’s big business ’round these parts!

Summing Up Rippdemup

Another social commentary blog devoted to political and social concerns and issues of the African American community, yes. But, it’s fresh, thought provoking and humorous, too.

El Blog De La Sourdough

How many times have you read a funny email, or something on a website somewhere in cyberspace, and think that it would be great to post for others on your blog? But then practicality takes over and you realize that your well-focused blog may just not be the right place for this. After all, you’ve developed a unique community and it’s important to keep that readership engaged. To be sure that it is, but if only there were a place where these notable posts could live in the blogosphere…

Today, there is. On the Blog De La Sourdough, Steve Fields (a contributor on Sky’s Every Day Heroes blog) allows his ‘friend’ sourdough free access to his site where he can go post-happy with the best and worst of the web.

El Blog De La Sourdough – Why You Should Go

Sourdough has an eclectic and sometimes strange sense of humor, but overall his posts have an intelligent base behind them. They can infuriate and entertain (depending on who is reading them). Sourdough seems to have a refreshingly strong sense of self and belief, and he’s not afraid to show it with the posts that he puts forth! It’s a nice change from the waffling middle ground.

Summing Up El Blog De La Sourdough

That being said, there’s a good chance that you won’t like what you see on this blog. The beauty of blogging is, though, that we all get to explore that of interest and belief to us and then build a community around it. And either way, there’s only one way for you to know whether this is a guy you’ll love or hate, or love to hate as the cards sometimes fall. You’ll have to go over and see what Steve and his good buddy are up to in the Netherlands of Alaska and decide for yourself.

Identity Check

If you find yourself feeling increasingly like one lost in the crowd of politics and opinion, one whose voice and interests are neither heard nor reflected in politics or society today, it my be time for your own Identity Check. Getting back to the core of who you are might be tough given the many voices we hear through mainstream media, but this blog by Anok just might help.

Identity Check – Why You Should Go

If you were looking for a concise explanation of what Identity Check is you might label it as political commentary. Not one for the confines of labeling, though, Anok might balk at such a short and sweet explanation of this blog (however in the interest of communication, we’d expect to be forgiven this once). And Anok would be right to hesitate to accept that narrow a labeling of this blog, as it is really more.

Anok is self-described as a person ready for a social and governmental change; not a strict anarchist, but apparently looking for something better than the current state of affairs. The person, and it would appear the blog too, is “constantly growing and changing.” Posts range from insightful consideration of current affairs to humorous posts, to political analysis, analysis of the issues, and respectful debate.

Summing Up Identity Check

Anok is a person with passion, but not one so passionate that readers are alienated from the blog. Respect and meaningful debate are central to Identity Check, and indeed it enjoys a healthy community of commentary; and Anok welcomes it all—supporters and detractors—with grace. Agree or disagree, but consider Anok’s researched and meaningful posts for the food for thought that they offer. In the interest of being concise again, as one commenter put it, this blog provides “good stuff to chew on.”

Readers Made Digg It What It Is Today

We greatly appreciate and value our readers here, and many of you have in fact been the inspiration for subsequent reviews.¬† We’ve also enjoyed the discussion and commentary that has transpired as a result of the reviews.¬† This community, although young, is already proving to be a great group, and through our reviews it is expanding all the time!

We know you have all already given much of yourselves, but we thought we might be able to ask a little more of you.¬† We hope you don’t find it too much of an imposition.¬† Actually, we hope you can embrace it as the opportunity that it is–the opportunity to tell us what to do!¬† Hey, these opportunities don’t come along everyday :), best to get in while the getting is good.

Here’s Your Chance To Spotlight Your Favorite Blogs!

Maybe you’ve guessed by now what we are about to ask.¬† We’d like to know who you, our esteemed readers, think is worth following.

We know that there are great blogs out there.  We find more and more of them everyday.  And as you might guess, we also find some, well, less than great blogs.  Chances are though that all of you have more blogs that you follow and that are deserving of a review here on Do You Digg It!  So please speak up and tell us who they are!  Where can we find them?  Who is worth a read?  What blogs are worth bringing more readers to?

How To Tell Us What You Know

The rules are simple.¬† We don’t really have any.¬† Well, maybe a couple…

  • Blogs should be of good quality and provide content of interest.¬† They can be informational, educational, entertaining or just plain funny and anything in between, but they need to serve us some purpose or they’re just not worth talking about.¬† You might have noticed we don’t bother with negative reviews, we just ignore that which isn’t worth highlighting.¬† We’ll continue to do the same.
  • Blogs should be clean.¬† We’re all adults here (but maybe not), but we do like to maintain a modicum of decor, so please nothing that would be too offensive, end definitely nothing illegal.
  • We don’t really even care if the blog is your own, so long as it meets the standards set forth here.¬† If you think you’ve got a good thing going, do feel free to drop a link.¬† But hey!¬† Why not help a friend too and tell us about their great blog while you’re at it?

Now, to tell us where to go, all you need to do is leave a link in the comments below that goes directly to the blog.¬† We can take it from there.¬† We’ve got a diverse group of readers, and we’re very interested to see what you digg up!

Random Political Thoughts And News

There’s not much to tell about Monkey Suit, the author of the Random Political Thoughts And News blog, because we don’t have an ‘About’ page to go on. But we can at least talk about what the blog and its community is‚Äîwhich is pretty much as the blog’s name indicates.

Random Political Thoughts And News – Why You Should Go

Random is a good way to describe this blog‚Äîit’s a hit or miss mix-up of political news and some commentary. No political person or subject is safe, and any may be the next to appear atop the blog. From Presidential hopefuls to election predictions, to media and industry experts and policies‚Äîyou never know who will get Monkey Suit fired up.

While Monkey Suit does interject with his own insight and opinions, he also presents a lot of food for thought. Some of the news is nothing new, but talked about from angles you might not have considered or understood, and some of it is stuff you might have missed. But agree or disagree, there’s enough there to fuel your thought and motivate you into caring a little more about a country and an issue you may have disregarded as being something you could do little about anyway.

Naturally a political blog is a place open for discussion. Visitor comments have been kept civil and insightful‚Äîa nice feature for a political blog‚Äîand offer further insight and consideration. The benefit here is that you can read and learn and discuss with a community, and not just follow it because you agree with the author. Hopefully that’s an aspect that Monkey Suit can maintain as the blog continues to grow.

Summing Up Random Political Thoughts And News

Random Political Thoughts is a young blog; already, though, there are readers willing to speak their peace and add to the conversation. Go here to read the news you might have missed, the news you know but want to hear more about from a source other than main-stream media, or just for entertainment when you need to hear someone bust on a politician.
