Living With MS

We have featured a few blogs here at Digg it from people dealing with Multiple Sclerosis. Each blogger has been at a different stage of the disease and is experiencing different levels of challenge and life change; but what is compelling about these blogs and these bloggers is the spirit and attitude of positivity and of living with the disease, not letting the disease live their lives for them. This is another such blog and an equally spirited blogger.

Living With MS – Why You Should Go

“Living with multiple sclerosis is like a box of chocolate. You never know how it will affect you the next minute, hour, or day. I refuse to let MS control my life…what about YOU.”

Blogger ‘Blinders Off’ is living with MS, but not letting it become her life. She understands she is first and foremost a person, and secondly a person dealing with a diagnosis. On her blog she blogs about life and life with MS, from the everyday things we can all relate to—like quitting smoking and healthcare reform and expense—to the things that are more specific to people with MS (including, even, news and information you might not know about, like scholarships for teens with MS).

Summing Up Living With MS

Blinders Off is inspiring, as her blog and content are. Everything about her blog, even the seemingly simple and mundane things, shows that life with MS is more than possible—a spirit and lesson that we can all learn from.

The Life Of A Wife Of A Wounded Marine

Wife of a Wounded Marine

This is the blog of Karie, a woman whose husband was wounded in Iraq just three months after they were married. She shares the struggles of coping with a recovering husband who has had both physical and emotional challenges since his tour in Iraq. Karie brings an interesting perspective on the war and how military families cope.

Wife of a Wounded Marine– Why You Should Go

Karie’s perspective reminds us that it is not just the soldiers that are affected by war, but that entire families feel the strain of dealing with the aftermath of war, particularly when soldiers are wounded. Her Friday Faces of War column is particularly interesting.  Throughout the blog, Karie shares the challenges and triumphs of a life not quite what she’d envisioned, and remains brutally and commendably honest and open.

Summing Up Wife of a Wounded Marine

Other military families will particularly like this blog, as they’ll find it easy to relate to Karie’s struggles. But the site is great for all of us, as we can see firsthand how our soldiers and their families cope with the life changes brought on by war.

Bad Behavior

Bad Behavior is primarily the personal blog of web designer Chelsey Bishop. Though Chelsey does let you in on her personal life, she also posts some pretty cool general health and information tips.

Bad Behavior – Why You Should Go

Bad Behavior is a good read, particularly if you’re into reading blogs. Chelsey is a good writer and posts some humorous stuff along with some good general information and tips. It’s a particularly good site for any woman who loves makeup and other girly stuff as much as the author does; she keeps you updated on good sales for these as well.

Summing Up Bad Behavior

Bad Behavior is one of the better personal blogs out there. The author is likeable and enjoys keeping her readers informed. She is clearly a talented web designer. Her blog would be particularly appealing to other bloggers for tips and inspiration for their own site. However, a good bit of the site is purely personal and may only be interesting to the author’s friends–or the new friends that she makes through it :).

Feeding The Inner Addict

Baby Blog Addict

The first step in dealing with an addiction is in admitting you have a ‘problem’; the second is in feeding that addiction—at least if it is one as harmless and potentially beneficial as an addiction to baby blogs.

Baby Blog Addict – Why You Should Go

It seems there comes a time in every parent-to-be or new parent’s new life when baby blog addiction is almost a guaranteed thing. It’s something akin to the addiction of buying every pregnancy and baby book or magazine you can get your hands on. Only better. Baby blog addictions allow you to connect with real, live people and learn and talk and gain the support of a community of people who understand exactly what you are going through, and have a similar affinity for helping one another through this wonderful, yet stressful, phase of life.

All of this is just what the Baby Blog Addict blog was created for. Growing out of their own addiction to parenting and baby blogs, Scott and Jennifer decided to join in the fun and create a community of their own. The result is this very successful and informative blog about all things baby. You’ll find links and information for absolutely everything here with topics ranging from managing the work/family life balance to Jennifer’s personal pregnancy journal, to choosing the cutest layette ever, Dad’s diary and father’s issues, and then well beyond into the triumphs and trials of parenthood—all of that, and great giveaways, too!

Summing Up Baby Blog Addict

If you’re a baby blog addict, you’ll love this site where you can admit it loudly and proudly. If you’re not an addict yet, come along for some top information and resources from this blog, and you soon will be. Either way, this is the place for parents-to-be, young parents, and baby addicts in general to fill the void.

John Is Fit

John is Fit is the personal story of one man, John, and his dedication to achieving the health and fitness goals he has set for himself. You might be surprised, though, with the stark honesty and tenacity of this blogger—and no doubt you will find that in and of itself compelling and inspiring.

John Is Fit – Why You Should Go

John will be the first to tell you that he is not fit, he is fat. I say that in no way to insult this man, as the fact that he can be so abruptly honest about that fact is exactly what makes his blog the place of learning and inspiration that it is. John is a normal person with the same normal struggles with weight and health that the average person has, and he is not afraid to admit it.

John started blogging in 2007 and has continued throughout all his successes and setbacks. Just his personal experience alone is hugely motivating, but he doesn’t stop there—he backs it up with information and resources to aide and assist his readers as he helps himself.

Summing Up John Is Fit

John’s brutal honestly and tenaciousness makes his blog. This is not a place where you will come and feel alone—it is a place where you can share this very real, human experience, and learn loads along the way. You’ll make many friends, find links to all the information and resources you could need, and gain the support of many between John and his blog community.
