Recap Review, April 18 Edition

It’s been a heartening week full of awareness here at Do You Digg It.  It started with an inspiring collection of stories from a young girl with autism, and grew to a theme of its own from there.

Week In Review, April 18, 2009

  • Actually the week started with Easter well-wishes, including an update on Sean Rasmussen’s internet marketing seminars and travels.  Tough to keep up with that one!  Enjoy our belated Easter message, or as the case may be for some of you, consider it timely if you celebrate this week!
  • The official blog review kick off for the week found us at Amy’s Short Stories blog.  Amy is that inspiring, insightful young girl I mentioned who is teaching all of us through her blogging, writing, and outlook on life.  Be sure to stop in and meet this young talent.
  • Amy’s blog led us to several others of similar interest, focusing on increasing the awareness of autism and spectrum disorders, and in supporting and educating others.  The next blog, Beautiful Spectrum, is one of these blogs, a true celebration of the diversity of life.
  • Faces of Autism is an equally informative and compelling blog.  It is just as it sounds, a photoblog celebrating the diversity of life and increasing understanding through photos and artwork.
  • The next site is dedicated to special needs, including a large segment of autism-related works, but has a bit broader topic, too.  5 Minutes for Special Needs is a blog supported by an expert and experienced team of writers dealing with special needs in many forms, and offering both education and support.
  • Our final blog review for the week was a visit back to a blogging friend we reviewed last year, the inspiring Glenda Watson Hyatt.  Glenda is an amazing woman doing amazing things in the face of insurmountable odds given her diagnosis of severe Cerebral Palsy.  It’s hard to maintain a poor mood when Glenda is around!

That rounds out our week here at Do You Digg It.  In case you missed it, here is last week’s Recap Review of all the previous week’s works and reviews.

Glenda Watson Hyatt Still Going Strong

Every time we start talking about exceptional people with special needs and exceptional skills, my mind goes back to Glenda Watson Hyatt of the Do It Myself Blog.  And so, I thought this was a good time to check up on Glenda and what she’s been doing.

Still Glenda

For those of you who are not familiar with Glenda, aka the “Left Thumb Blogger,” take some time to get to know this inspiring woman.  Glenda has cerebral palsy and has been categorized by doctors as being “non-verbal,” but her blog definitely proves otherwise!

I’m happy to report that Glenda is still every bit Glenda, still cracking jokes and working away, putting the rest of us to shame.  She is currently working on her presentation for SOBCon 2009 and taking up the battle of making the internet and social networking sites accessible to people with all types of disabilities, not just those with visual impairments as so often seems to be the case.

Glenda continues to be one of the most inspiring bloggers around.  Revisit this old Digg It favorite for a healthy dose of knowledge and inspiration, and a great many laughs, too!

To Your Success In The New Year!

Celebrate Success!Category: Do you Digg It

Too early for New Year’s posts and resolutions? Never. It’s never too early to take a positive look back, to learn from the resources at hand, and to plan for a bigger and better future. So just as Christmas seems the right time to revisit photoblogs of past reviews, this time of year also seems the right time to revisit the many excellent success and motivational blogs that have graced the cyberpages of Do You Digg It.

Do It Myself BlogGlenda Watson Hyatt has been the focus of posts here a couple of times. She is a truly inspirational person, one succeeding far beyond the average person, despite seemingly insurmountable challenges. If ever there was a person to prove that all things are possible, it’s Glenda. Be sure to see her blog and make it a regular stoop for continued motivation throughout the year.
Successful Blog – Liz Strauss has earned her big name in blogging and success motivation. Hers is a community with arms wide-open, sharing the best of blogging and success. And somehow, Liz always finds the time to meet new bloggers and commenters, and give a personal warm welcome and note of support. Make hers the stop for support and friendship on your journey on the path of success.
Positive Thinking – Kenny McBride shows us that positive thinking is an international action! For real, down-to-earth positivity and success communication, stop by Kenny’s blog.
• Our Own Sean Rasmussen – I know it’s only been days since we overviewed Sean’s blogs, but there is no rounding up success communication blogs without mentioning his. For ongoing success motivation and lots of great motivational freebies and eBooks, Sean’s blogs are a “must stop.”

Of course, these are not at all close to being all of our success and motivation blog reviews. There have been many over the course of the year, all of which you can access through the archives and categories of personal development, motivation, and success. Spend some time here reviewing the reviews, and pick out a few to follow to keep you motivated toward even more success this year.

Wishing you the most successful year ever!

Glenda Watson Hyatt Continues To Inspire

Lorelle on WordPress Glenda Hyatt featureWe’ll come back to the blog itself for later review (because it certainly is deserving in its own right!); this blog caught my eye today because of the feature recently posted about Glenda Watson Hyatt, whom we reviewed a short time back for her amazing and inspirational Do It Myself blog.

(Re) Introducing Glenda Watson Hyatt

To refresh the memory, Glenda Watson Hyatt is the author of DoItMyself.com and a book also aptly titled I’ll Do It Myself. Glenda has Cerebral Palsy, and uses blogging as her largest outlet of communication with the world. She has become a true source of inspiration for so many, and a much sought-after presenter at conferences and seminars, including Blog World Expo.

Glenda’s Story

This recent feature post is found on Lorelle on WordPress. Lorelle was privileged to have Glenda share her story with her, which is shared in a video on the post.

It’s a wonderful thing to see Glenda get her due attention, and an inspiration to see her story. Take a minute to visit this site and be inspired by Glenda—and learn more about the amazing ways blogging has changed lives.

Go here to see Glenda speak on Lorelle on WordPress.

Has Blogging Changed Your Life?
